I have been doing the photography for ABRSM (The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) for a few years now alongside Kate Benjamin who brings her design and musical background to the shoots.
They have recently moved their direction for the covers to be more relaxed and less focussed on technique but more on fun! This shoot was at Wallington library, South London, with some local young musicians who were happy to be on the new ABRSM covers. I set up lighting and a black backdrop to create a strong back lit effect on the musicians to give depth and punch for the images which were then worked into amazing covers by Andy Potts’s which you can see below.
